Chevron Baby Blanket

chevron-baby-blanket_4

This Baby Blanket inspired by Espace Tricot is the perfect gift.  We knit this one using 3 skeins of Classic Elite Yarns Sprout.  Sprout is a super soft chunky 100% Organic Cotton.  I love the idea of knitting the blanket using color blocking.  It makes the project go by so quickly without counting rows, but you still have the option of multiple colors.  It also keeps you from having lots of ends to weave in at the end.

Using a size 10.5 needle, I scaled down the number of repeats I had across the row by casting on 97.  Then just knit each color until you have finished almost the entire hank and ending on a wrong side row then switch colors.  This adjustment gives you a finish size of 24″ x 28″, just perfect for a car seat!!  To take a look at the original pattern just click here.

Make a Wish

fino-sweater_1

Make a Wish by Joji Locatelli is the perfect little sweater for the fall season.  This circular cardigan is worked seamlessly in one piece, with top-down set in sleeves.  It is easy to wear and can be dressed up or down.

Jenna knit this sweater in Manos del Uruguay Fino-Silver Tea Set.  Fino is a beautiful blend of 70% extra fine merino wool and 30% silk.  This yarn is absolutely one of our favorite in the shop and gives every project a gorgeous drape .  It is a soft, shiny single-ply fingering weight yarn.

Fino is kettle dyed which creates a marbleized striated effect forming a rich palette of relaxing colors.  The pattern has a unique construction with lace patterns across the back of the project and along the front edges adding texture and interest as you knit.

Ambrosia Scarf

ambrosia-scarf_2

This scarf pattern by Universal Yarn is absolutely adorable.  It’s a super quick crochet with just 13 rows and using a large size N hook.  The scarf is worked length wise making it easy to memorize each row as you work across the project.

ambrosia-scarf_3

You need 87 yards of each contrasting color and 261 yards of the main color in a chunky.  I was able to complete this project in just 6 hours so it makes a great gift for the upcoming season.

I love the texture of the scarf mixing puff stitches and single crochets together giving it a vintage look.  The large fringe added at the end gives it extra length so you can wear it so many different ways.
