Rikke Hat

The classic “Rikke Hat” by Sarah Young was designed in 2010 and has since become a worldwide hit, I can see why! The shape and texture using garter stitch is adorable! The hat is snuggly around your ears and keeps you warm without being to tight or falling off.

The shape is slouchy so it rests on your head without messing up your hair, and for the most part is a one-size-fits all hat, it’s perfect! Stephanie used just 2 skeins of Malabrigo Rios. This yarn is soft, strong, and washable, this 4-ply yarn resists pilling and washability makes it fantastic for absolutely any project. To take a look at the pattern just click here.

25% off Bamboo Pop and other Universal Yarn

Staggered Shawl_1

Get 25% off Bamboo Pop today to create the Staggered Shawl by Amy Gunderson. This whimsical knit is a great intro to intarsia pattern and only takes 3 balls of Universal Yarns Bamboo Pop.  Bamboo Pop is light and breezy the perfect yarn for summer projects.

Staggered Shawl_3

It is a machine washable 50/50 cotton/bamboo blend with amazing drape and softness.  The pattern is fun and definitely holds your interest by staggering the colors every few rows.  The pattern begins in the top center and increases as you work on both sides and the center.

Staggered Shawl_2

There are lots of awesome color combinations but we fell in love with the green, purple, and black the second we saw it!  L & B has over 25 colors to choose from.  You can check out the pattern by clicking here.

Spiral Shawl

As engaging to style as it is to crochet, the Spiral Shawl by Donna Childs is worked in wedges formed by single, half-double and double crochet stitches. The sawtooth edge is shaped with short rows that are offset at the beginning of the row by chain-stitch extensions; the technique creates the narrow crescent shape. A narrow single-crochet band reinforces the top edge. Crocheted with 3 skeins of Silk Garden Lite this is a great accent piece for spring.

The colors of Noro adds drama with bright flashes of turquoise, pink and yellow against dark blue. The pattern can either be found in Noro Knitting Magazine Issue 9 or on Ravelry, just click here!

New Yuri

A new shipment of Yuri in 10 colors is here at L & B Yarn Co. This year round yarn in a sock weight that does so much more than socks, Yuri is made from incredibly soft merino (21 micron) and comes in ten tonally dyed shades. The merino is spun and dyed in Peru and grown in Uruguay, where it is certified to be from woolgrowers that do not practice museling on their sheep. The tone-on-tone dye effect adds a subtle depth to the floral inspired colors. Check out the 8 new patterns in Yuri on Ravelry, just click here!
