So, I realize this is not the right time of year to knit this adorable hat by Donna Smith, but I couldn’t stand it any longer and I had to knit this one up! I have always loved to knit fair isle, I love how the colors work together to create patterns and that alone makes projects fly by for me. In this case, the colors work together to create little sheep and it doesn’t get any better than that. I’ve had my eye on this hat since it was still very cold outside, and when I received some requests for a fair isle class this was the perfect project.
We knit ours using Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran in 2 colors (Silver and Ecru) and Debbie Bliss Donegal Luxury Tweed in 2 Colors (Chocolate and Bronze). I had plenty of yarn left over to knit another hat in all the colors except for the silver because I used it to finish off the pom pom. If you are interested in taking this 2-part class that begins this Saturday, April 23rd click here for more information. If you love the pattern, just click here to check it out.
