Nurmilintu

This sweet little shawl by Heidi Alander is a fun quick knit! Heidi says the name Nurmilintu comes from an old Finnish lullaby: Nuku, nuku, nurmilintu…(Free translation: “Sleep, sleep, little bird…”) The shawl is light and airy with a delicate picot bind off which reminds me of bird feathers.

The pattern holds the knitters interest alternating between the lace and garter stitch sections which means not a single purl stitch!

The size is easily adjusted by repeating the garter and lace parts as many times as you wish. L & B used one ball of Debbie Bliss Fine Donegal. This yarn has a hefty 415 yards and is a gorgeous blend of merino wool and cashmere.

We have 10 different colors in stock including three new light colorways perfect for spring. You can visit Heidi Alander on the web at www.sadelmaknits.com. Check out the pattern on her Ravelry store by clicking here.
