Over the past 2 years I have become a collector/fan of sugar skulls. I love the bright and happy colors that are used to make these works of art. When I saw the Skull Shawl on Ravelry by kungen och majkis, I could not wait to tackle this crochet pattern.
While looking for a yarn that inspired me, I ran across Plymouth Yarns Happy Feet 100 Splash Hand Dyed. This is a 90% superwash wool / 10% nylon blend and the colors are fantastic. This was the perfect yarn to pair with the pattern. I used 2 balls of Happy Feet and a size G crochet hook. There was a little bit of yarn left over and I feel that the shawl turned out to be the size I was looking for. If you would like to make it smaller or larger you can adjust the pattern repeat. I did 6 pattern repeats and after I blocked it, I was pleased with the outcome.
The pattern is fantastic, it includes video tutorials as well as written and photographed instructions. I crocheted the connected eyes version and liked how it turned out. To check out this pattern just click here.
