Hem to Hem by L & B Yarn Co. can be worn as a caplet or you can bunch it up around the back of your neck to create a large textured cowl. This simple pattern is knit in the round in stockinette stitch and then taking the edges of the fabric and folding back a margin of the cloth you knit them together forming large hems that appear as folds.
This garment takes 3 skeins of Noro Taiyo a heavy worsted weight cotton blend. Noro was founded over forty years ago by Eisaku Noro. The handcrafting yarns in particular are well known for their vivid colors and combinations of diverse fiber types.
Noro yarns are unique in the yarn industry by having lengthier spans of color in the runs, causing thick striping patterns, as well as being partially spun by hand instead of being produced completely by machines. To take a look at the pattern by L & B Yarn Co. just click here.
This new fingering weight yarn from Urth is a true work of art. “Uneek” is a truly unique self-striping hand dyed merino collection of vibrant colors. These basic socks are knit using just one skein of color number 3002, and we think they turned out amazing!! L & B yarn has 8 colors available in this fun new sock yarn.
Urth Yarns is a family owned yarn brand specializing in hand dyed natural yarns. They value the time and emotional investment that go into hand knitting; therefore appreciate your demand for a stimulative feel and yummy colors. Developing and employing innovative dyeing techniques, they aim for a love at first sight or touch, every time. Mass production made us forget how to use our hands and bring out the individuality about ourselves. Human touch makes all the difference. If you knitted once, you know how cool it is. Knitting is good for the body, the mind but also for the earth as a means of sustainable clothing production. Raise your needles if you are with us! Urth Yarns are dyed and prepared locally in Turkey by the skilled hands of unemployed women in our community. The dyeing studios are in Mersin and Istanbul.
Now at L & B Yarn Co. Quarry is a chunky brother to Shelter and Loft inspired by roving-style “unspun” yarns, offered in pillowy 100-gram skeins. Three strands of the same lofty, woolen-spun Targhee-Columbia fleece, but rather than twisting the individual plies we nestle them together and gently spin the whole trio. The result is a plump yarn that looks like a single ply and has greater tensile strength and stitch definition than a true unspun yarn.
Quarry is offered in a new palette of thirteen heathered colors. The structure of this yarn blends the hues in a slightly striated way, reminding us of geological formations, so we gave each color the name of a mineral or gemstone.
