This is one of my all time favorite projects knit out of the beautiful Fino by Manos Del Uruguay a member of the World Fair Trade Organization. L & B just received a brand new shipment of Fino today! This yarn is an ultra soft 70% extrafine merino, 30% silk; with a hefty 490 yards per hank. The Circle Scarf by Jocelyn J. Tunney is a soothing knit created in stockinette stitch. The piece is knit flat and seamed together at the end with a simple seam with just 2 hanks of yarn. The effortless stitch pattern shows off the beauty of the kettle dyed yarn giving the finished project so much color depth.
Fino is hand dyed in large kettles to create a marbleized, subtly striated effect that forms a rich palette of glorious colors. Manos Del Uruguay is a non profit organization which assembles women in cooperatives scattered throughout the countryside of Uruguay. The aim of the organization is to bring economic and social opportunities to rural women.
