This is such a beautiful piece, I was able to watch this work in progress grow from week to week and the final product is absolutely beautiful! This shawl by Justyna Lorkowska illustrates the principle of both color and form: an old favorite colorway can be paired with your latest yarn obsession while the popular simple construction embraces new and different shape. The pattern is lovely knit in two solid colors or one solid and one variegated like the photograph shows.
Margaret knitted this one in Manos Del Uruguay Alegria (1 skein of Atlantico and 1 skein of Natural). This sock yarn is an easy-care blend of ultra-soft superwash merino with durable polyamide. Its “hand” is remarkably soft, resilient, and easy to work with. Manos Del Uruguay is a member of the World Fair Trade Organization. The hands of Uruguay is a non profit organization which assembles women in cooperatives scattered throughout the countryside of Uruguay. The aim of the organization is to bring economic and social opportunities to rural women.
